About the Trans-Versional Apostolic Record (TVAR)

What Is the TVAR?

The Trans-Versional Apostolic Record (TVAR) is an ongoing project by Shawn McCraney, founder of Christian Ultra Libertarians for Truth (CULT). The goal? To unlock the true message of the New Testament (what Shawn calls the Apostolic Record) by examining multiple translations, historical contexts, commentaries, and even secular texts to uncover The Great News in a new light.

Unlike traditional biblical commentaries, the TVAR is not limited to one translation or theological bias. Instead, it draws from:

  • Greek and Hebrew roots of the original texts
  • Historical context to understand how the scriptures were received
  • Multiple biblical translations to see how wording has shifted over time
  • Secular references that provide additional cultural and historical insights

The result? A bold, deeply contextualized, and eye-opening approach to the Apostolic Record that challenges mainstream religious interpretations and offers a fresh, authentic perspective on the words of Christ and the early apostles.

*Note: some details concerning the specifics of the TVAR format noted in this video have shifted as we have proceeded to work on this.

What is available now?

While the full TVAR project is still in development, two major sections are available now for exploration and study:

What’s Coming Next?

The TVAR project is ongoing, as Shawn McCraney continues to work through new sections of the Apostolic Record. Future releases will include:

  • The Epistles (Paul’s Letters)
  • The Gospel of Matthew, Mark, and Luke

Each book will be examined through the TVAR method, providing historical clarity, reasonable application and fresh interpretation for those seeking to understand the Apostolic Record outside traditional religious constructs.

Why Does the TVAR MAtter?

Many believers have been taught to read scripture through denominational lenses, accepting interpretations that align with church traditions rather than historical and linguistic accuracy. At the root of this method of belief comes division and dis-unity, the opposite of God’s ultimate intention for us. The TVAR breaks away from traditional commentary, allowing anyone—whether a seasoned scholar or a curious seeker—to engage with the Apostolic Record in a new way.

By using:

  • Multiple translations (including Greek and Hebrew roots)
  • Historical and cultural analysis
  • Commentary free from denominational bias
  • Comparisons with secular and historical texts

… the TVAR removes traditional filters and presents the New Testament as it was meant to be understood.
